This is software (AWS) generated transcription and it is not perfect.
A like most people who got into the easier experience design space got here in a way that they never really thought that they would. They never set out to land in this space. Andi, I would say what got me here was I, um, was very passionate about software design, and I was able to bring that into my PhD program at the University of Washington. Andi, I unknowingly at the time was all the people on a software team where I was the program manager, the designer, the content writer, the developer and the user experience researcher. I didn't I was able to create a chap. Ought to help answer hernia surgery, patient questions. Andi, Um, there was a nice, substantial contribution, thio academic knowledge, which then also translated very nicely into user experience. Researcher role, which I have right now.
So my main responsibility is to make sure that our software that we are shipping for our customers in Azure, um, is usable and meets their needs aligns with their scenarios. Um, and it is intuitive and doesn't cause any headaches or stress. The decisions that I have to make is I have to figure out what is the priority and work with our stakeholders to make sure that we're all aligned and what is the priority. I will then make sure that we're recruiting the right people, how we're going to recruit those people for our studies. Scheduling the sessions. I work with the designers to make sure our prototypes already on time, and then I will then perform the study sessions where we invite people to come more or less test, drive the software and give us feedback and answer the research questions that we had before we started the project or when we started the project. I should say Andi, then I will analyze the data and write up a report and then scheduled a meeting where I read the results back to the team members and identify what we should change what went well and what was. She would consider moving forward on the projectmy top three priorities are to make sure that, um, the software's, uh we're shipping the best possible experiences for customers. Um, that we are achieving the most impact with our research resource is and design resource is, um, and that everyone is learning from the work that I do and making sure that we can incorporate it into what we create for our customers. Um, in terms of my weekly work hours, Um, it's like what I described before, where I'm getting the same time getting ready for studies that air a couple weeks out, getting ready for studies that I'm running that week on Gun. Also analyzing the results from studies that I've already done writing the reports on but also sharing that information with our stakeholders on guy. Also attend meetings where the designers will present the results are present their potential designs and a group format to get feedback from us as well. Eh? So I do a lot of design reviews, um, and not critiques is a harsh word, but more constructive feedback sessions is the way I would call him. So that's another thing that I dioI work about 50 hours a week.
um I use Microsoft teams and outlook a lot to communicate. I use an internal research publishing platform that we have in Microsoft so that everyone can share their research. And when, uh, 11 central location. I use a recruitment platform. So platforms that help us find our participants for our research studies. Um, and I use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint a lot. Thio, analyze data, write reports, or also create presentations as well.
