look forward to this opportunity, you know, to share some of my experiences as I'm going through the career, you know, ups and downs. And I hope that some of them will actually be useful. Toe the students who are thinking about you know, where they're headed in their career next and then some of the things to kind of learn from these experiences. So I started my career, you know, in in sales, You know, and and, you know, I passed out. I did completed my engineering and, you know, started my career and technical sales on. And after that, you know, kind of worked in a manufacturing company where it was, you know, very sales oriented. And, you know, I I I mean, it was it was really a great start. I mean, definitely had to go through a lot off learning because just imagine someone coming directly out of the college and into the sales, and that's also into kind of a manufacturing sales, you know, it was it was quite a bit of an experience, but I think that experience helped shape quite a bit where I am today s o. In my current role, I you know, I am responsible for the sales, you know, portfolio for one off The technology book streams within within one of the larger consulting company I worked for Accenture on DE. So I started my career in sales. Then I, you know, did my master's in business, you know, again in the information technology. So again, you know, that combination off sales as well as the information technology helped me kind of shape a lot off my experiences. What I'm doing today, Onda. Then after that, I actually started going into the industry because I wanted to make sure that ultimately, when I'm selling, I I wanted to be sure that, you know, I have gone through that experience myself. So I spent a bit of time in the industry, you know, again implementing the solutions, implementing some of the e r p solutions. And this I'm talking about, like in 4 4005. You know, when the AARP was still kind off pretty having the cloud was nowhere in the mix. At that point in time, three e r p s were still, you know, but still, like big programs going over multiple years and so on and so forth. So I spent some time in the industry, did the implementations and all that stuff. And then I moved in tow back into sales. And since I started, my career in sales, sales was always closer to my heart on But But in this case since I also explained some time in the industry, you know, in the information technology, I kind of combined both of those and which led to where I am today. I am responsible for the selling in the ICTY space and I think I've been doing this for over last 15 years.
absolutely eso I think one of the, you know, big things you know, which has kept me going in this kind of a role over the years is like every day is a new day, right? You know eso from a responsibilities perspective. I'm responsible, you know, for maintaining the client relationships. I am responsible for making the decisions from a resource ing and stuff in perspective as we go and the new project for our clients. And most importantly, I'm responsible for managing that people, right? I mean, that's the best part of the job. Because the key here is that if you are not able to manage your people will, ultimately, you will not be able to deliver it to the clients, Right? Um typical, you know, I mean, there is one thing which, you know sometimes, um, it's kind of a love and hate relationship that have no work hours, right? I mean, yeah, it's not a typical 9 to 5 kind of a job, and that's like, you know, I would say if you if you love your job, you will not complain about it. But you know, you you just have to balance because typically in a consulting, you know, you are kind off, you know, trying to meet the client requirements and everything. But at the same time, you you've got a lot of work to be done to be able to meet those client requirements. So it's it's definitely, you know, high stress environment, I would say, But again, it all depends upon if you like your job if you love it. As I said, every day is a new day. There is a tremendous amount off learning, right? I mean, it's like it always feels like you have never left the college right because you're always learning and learning and learning and as what I was talking to rotate sometime back is like the way technologies you know, advancing and the innovation which is happening. It's the rate off that learning has even kind off, you know, increase multiple in last couple of years. So from a priorities perspective, absolutely. As I said, you know, serving our clients is the top most priority, especially when you're in a consulting right. Secondly, making sure that your people your meeting on and taking care of off for your people right, which is which is very critical. And third and most importantly, I would say, you know, is instrumentation that work like balance because, you know, that kind of thing Just can, you know, go off the track pretty soon because, you know, as I said, you are working against project deadlines and so on and so forth. So I would say those are the key three priorities, which I take, you know, start of the day. I want to make sure that have achieved that at the end of the day.
Yeah. So the major challenges and pain points, I would say, You know, one of the key things is you know, the communication, right? That is I don't want to call it a challenge, but since you're always I mean, it's the consulting world is a very project oriented kind off world, right? It's your working for different projects. So on Did you have got this set budget? You have got the you know you want to satisfy to that particular client requirements. So I think it is very important. So have a very, you know, robust communication mechanism as well as the governance structure when you're delivering to those particular projects and to client requirements. Right? So, I mean, when you start any kind of a client engagement or a project on a consulting, it is very important to establish a very strong and robust communication and governance mechanism because if you don't have that and things can really get off the track pretty soon and you the other piece of the challenges, you won't realize until you have gone too far, right? So then you're like then it is very difficult to kind of come back because I mean we have to understand that, you know, our clients are really prioritizing these projects. They're spending a lot of time. They're spending a lot of money on all these projects. So I would say some from a major challenges and pain points. I would say I know columns of challenging the pain point, but I think these are I would probably call it as a critical success factors in a job such as me to kind of take care about some off these things. And second, I would say, other than the communication and governance is speaking the right team for the right job Right on. This becomes even more critical in you know, today's times, you know, as I said, the technology is changing at such a rapid pace. It is very important that you hand pick the team who are able to who is able to deliver. So that particular project right? It's not that a person may not be right for a job or something, but you got to pick the best person, right? Andi, I mean, that's why I would say the people aspect becomes more and more important as you kind of go through these projects
