Yeah, sure. So I started off, so I when I when I was very one of the things that interested me, I was in the sports and different things, but one of things that interested me with music and there was a side of music, which was the technology that related to music. That was at the time, which was in the, you know, nine early nineties late eighties and eso I was constantly curious about technology and that because I went into college and other things, that was sort of my My first experience with technology was trying to set up figure things out in this music side on that really led a passion with me, always had around technology, and when I went to school, I actually majored in marketing communications in business. But my hobbies were always very consumed on the technology side. That that sort of led me into my jobs and different things that I pursued were jobs that combine business but also technology together. And that's really where I got most interesting. E
Yeah. So my primary responsibilities and what I do are really three things I would say The first is I am trying to set a vision. A vision includes elements of what we're gonna do is a company, but specifically within products and services that we offer as a company. What are they gonna do, What the goals and other things that we're trying to accomplish. So that's number one is setting division. The second thing is getting buy in on that buy in is at all levels of the organization. It's with my peers of different leaders of different groups and organizations and giving them a line things we want to do with the right things. It involves people above me like our board, our CEO, where I'm trying to get funding and get buying that it's the right thing to do so we can invest and make decisions. We want Thio, and that also includes people that work for me. Even though they work for me, it doesn't mean that I just tell them what to do. I've got to get their hearts and minds really excited about what we're trying to accomplish. So getting buying the second thing. And then the third thing I would say is the delivery and execution. There are constantly challenges that are rising roadblocks that are in our way and s. So it is a constant struggle to make sure and communicate where we're at on our execution. Are we ahead of schedule, behind schedule or certain problems arising that we need to address? Do we need to course? Correct. And so those would be the three things setting the vision, getting buy in and managing the delivering execution. Really? What? I spend my time?s o. I would say I'm normally probably work about a 50 hour week, about 10 hours a day. There might be little things on the weekends and what work. But there are always projects and deadlines that come up that might seem that. And so, you know, we might be under a big headline. Maybe there's a board meeting. Other things that we're trying to do are a major delivery that we need to work through in the hours. Might increase an example of that recently. Waas. One of the things that my company does is news, eh? So we have to use a today. Then we have over 400 different local news sites, the U. S. And then several other 100 more in Europe and other other locations. And one of things we just had was the election s Oh, that was a big news events that was going on and eso we worked extra hours had teams on call. And while I wasn't necessarily the one writing code and making updates or responding Thio issues, my role in that case was really supporting and engaging the team. So I was jumping on calls. We had virtual zoom meetings, different things going on. I would jump on the calls and just kind of asked how people are doing, you know, order of dinner, things like that. And I was also reaching out to my colleagues, my peers and making sure they weren't seeing issues. Just that we have good communication. That was a case where way worked very long days, but it wasn't really a
Yeah, I think one of the main challenges in any job. It's definitely true in mind, but it's been my experience that really any is that. It's very important to not just react to the day. And what I mean by that is you're going to come in every day to work. Things are gonna happen during the day and there'll be a fire drill you respond with. This is even more true than it ever has been with Web applications and just that immediacy that we have in our minds and happens right now in our society. And so it's very important that you are always finding time to work on a proactive plan, not just be reacting. So that means carving things out and your your schedule time to think through problems. They have a plan on going to be on the aggressive instead of coming in every day. And always being on your heels is reacting. Whatever coming from you. So that would be one. Another thing that I would to other ones that I would say call out one is always evangelized, uh, good that your team or you're doing there's there's always opportunities to do that it might be a elevator conversation. It might be a lowland meeting. It might be that someone challenges what we're doing in a certain area you could pipe in and talk about the good things that you're doing. So always be ready to evangelize what you're doing. It will help elevate you and also your team that you're on. If you could do that and then the last thing I would say it seems like obvious. But it's surprising how many people violate this, which is really don't engage in talking about your colleagues. Negative. Um, there's a lot of people get frustrated working with others, and that's totally normal. But I think if you can be a person who says I'm not going to engage in that conversation goes on, you can hear him out. You don't have to be all self righteous certain things. You could hear him out, but then just respond to something positive and go to solving the problem instead of just dwelling on talking about about someone. When you do that, it sets a culture within your group team, which is very positive, and it also makes people trust you because they know you don't do that. You're not gonna do that about them in other situations, so that that's what I would recommend.
