I am originally from Michigan. I was born and raised there. I ended up getting accepted into the University of Utah. When I was a senior in high school so I decided to come out. I was born and raised a big skier, so it was a no brainer for me to come to the University of Utah given there's a lot of ski resorts close by. I took a very different approach to college. I took more of a fun route to figure out what exactly I wanted to do with my life. I ended up finding the entrepreneurship courses within the business school at my college. Which led me to where I am today in a way. I am in a sales position which to me is very much an entrepreneur role. You have to be an entrepreneur you can't really just sit back every day as it is you have to figure it out. So the entrepreneurship course really helped to shape where I am today.
I handle all new business to our organization Huckabuy. We're a start-up company in Park City. I'm fully responsible to bring in new business to our organization. Decisions that I handle on a day to day basis start anything from, who we should be reaching out to? Who should be a good customer of ours? How do we actually get them to be a customer? so there's a lot of decisions to be made throughout that process. Anything from qualifying them as the company down to the people that we're having discussions with and then probably lay it down to what their pricing should be. How much our services cost for them. My weekly hours go back to what I was mentioning. When it comes to being an entrepreneur, I'm kind of figuring out what you have to do. My hours definitely vary anything from 8 to 6, sometimes 9,10 to 11 at night. It depends on where my customers are into what I need to get done. Workload definitely varies so I'm just going to have to go with the flow and figure it out.
The tools that we use here is Google. We use Google for all of our internal programs, we also Gmail, etcetera. We also use something called SalesForce.com as our CRM. Then we're in what's called SEO search engine optimization. There's a lot of different tools that can be used to really understand how a website is performing today. We use the tool Ahrefs. I am personally not a coder myself, so I'm not much in algorithms or coding languages. I do understand them high level, but I don't know how to write code myself.
