I'm originally from Southern Utah, a little small town. I was born in Chicago, but I essentially grew up there so that's home to me. I've lived in New Orleans, Louisiana as well as Boston, Massachusetts. I like to cook. I like to experiment with new things and play sports. I'm not really that great at any sport but I like to dabble in everything.
I recently moved teams. I like my official title now, its analytics engineer. I've worked on the product development side as well as professional services, and it's heavy in SQL, our visualization tool, we've worked with this ClickView, Excel, really any analytics tool we use to kind of help answer questions within the healthcare systems. For example, right now I'm working on a client in Boston. They use a different technology that were kind of picking up so fast as well. It's spread across multiple technologies. It's really whatever we can do to answer the questions that were being asked.
Some of the things I really like about the company in general is the culture. It's very kind of a relaxed culture I guess compared to other places. The nature of the work, I'm passionate about the healthcare field, and so it really helps when you're in the technology field to really care about like what you're using or the underlying problems that you're trying to solve and then technology becomes a means to an end. I also like the variety. I've kind of experienced a lot of different roles as it is a startup. Kind of filling in the gaps. I felt like I've gotten a wide variety of experience. That's been good. As I mentioned, we are a startup and we've gone through a few reworks. I think some of the challenges are just being adaptable and some people have a really hard time to change. I think that would be a challenge that I overcame -like just saying, “okay, let's pivot, let's do what we need to.”
