I started working on the Internet, Um, in the late nineties, um, around the time when the web browser, it was brand new. Um, I was in a university learning Cem, uh, theoretical programming languages like Pascal. Um, but the internet was real, and I ended up getting a kind of, uh, to Santa Solaris and Lennox and all that kind of stuff ended up building and working with web web servers on the Internet was still kind of shaping up. Um, and I got in the telephony. Um, and in 2005 I created free switch, which is an open source project, um, used worldwide like a telecom media service. Um, so it's a C application. It turns Ah, any computer into a software to find telephone device. And, uh, I spent 15 years working on that code. Um, And now, uh, since 2017 I've been founder and CEO Signal ER, which is a company that I started to kind of bring all the technology that I've been working on my whole life into Teoh the public eye and make products and stuff to help the world
single ira is basically a a cloud hosted, um, telephone network that allows you to use a P eyes. Um, if you have ever heard Royal before, I think of it is like the next chapter Beyond that, um, using technology that was written, you know, decades further along than what they were using, Um, Also bringing together live audio and video, um, into new applications that allow you to to work smarter and well together with multiple rooms and, uh, and just kind of a new experience in general video. So we kind of bringing together two left knee AP eyes and video into a new era to kind of create telecom network that doesn't involve wears.
it was Ah, when I started the company, it was basically before there was too much along. The first goal was like to start recruiting people. Eso we decided we want to start a company had, like, three people already in. We had to get more. So I kind of went around and visited people and tried to recruit a couple. Then there was, um, kind of went immediately into the world of fundraising so that we could, uh we went to still come Bali and went and of all the different, uh, venture capitalists and got to know that community. So it was pretty big transition from, you know, an idea to having a group and then, like, uh, started building. Actually, we kind of incubated our company. Um, with the existing consulting operation that we're running so kind of helped boost wrap it so very scrapple. We just jumped in the way that started working, taking stuff that we had already done and immediately kind of busy putting it all together
