eso My name is Amanda Thomas, and I'm a marketing technology and operations consultant. Um, I Yeah, I guess. Starting from the beginning of my career, I actually started in sales and worked my way mawr into managing Salesforce eso. That's kind of how I got into the technology portion of sales itself. Um, and working for startup Thio where multiple different hats. I actually got into managing Marquette oas. Well, so we were getting a marketing automation tool. So managing and taking on that is what got me into marketing technology Side s o. I worked for a couple of other companies afterwards, um, managing their marketing automation platform and their operations team, which consisted of, um, you know, you're very basic sending out emails, thio processing people that come on your website, putting together targeted audiences for advertising for paid media, things like that. Um and then I've always wanted to go into consulting, so I had a great opportunity. Thio, make that jump over a year ago. It's been over a year and a half now that I've been in consulting, and, um, yeah, I just wanted to be able to get my eyes on more, uh more instances. More groups of marketing teams to see how they work together on consulting has been a great, great opening for that. So So, uh, where I'm at today?
Yeah. So my responsibilities I handle about, like, four clients at one point of time. And, um, with those clients, I'm going into their instance of marcato. Um, specifically, usually, and just evaluating what is working for them and what might not be working for them. Uh, sometimes these clients already have these decisions made at the point of time that I enter in and start working with them. But I look at operationally how are they processing people from their website versus any other source of data that they're getting Onda? How are they leveraging that information to increase the velocity, the speed at which there actually closing? Um, you know, new people into actual business. So how fast are they making that sale? And what can we do to make that even faster and run smoothly and actually get enough information on on these records? Uh, thio, uh, to enable sales to enable all these other departments that air within a business to make decisions. So I think usually my responsibility in the consulting that ideo is listening to where they think they might have trouble spots within automation and then proposing fixes to those spots. Um and It's usually around data collection and making people run through the funnel a lot faster. Um, yeah. So I just helped them make those decisions themselves. Onda Then the top three priorities I have is definitely making sure that the clients are happy. So we definitely wanted to make sure we could continue working with them. Eso uh, that's just, you know, delivering project notes, delivering having weekly calls, um, things to make sure that we're always on the same path and same track. Ah, lot of changes happen, especially on the marketing side pretty quickly. Eso making sure that we're always on the same page with the client and making sure that they're happy and our priorities align is probably the very top priority that I have, uh, in my job today, Thea other two are, um I would say you know, around just executing, making sure that I can build thes solutions and map out the solutions as quickly as possible for them on gun making sure that they run correctly too. So after the build, are they now equipped with, you know, being able to monitor how these programs are running? Are they equipped with information? So If there's a question internally, they can answer it. Um, without having to know, you know, come back to us and come back to me, uh, to get answers. So I would say those air, you know, the top three priorities. Um, the weekly work hours, Um, they're not to intensive, which is really nice specifically where I work at a two. Most, um, we make sure that we're only resourced for about 34 hours in a week. Eso for clients around eight hours. Um, and that allows us to spend that, you know, difference from 40 hours and normal work week and the 34 that were assigned. It allows us to spend time together as a group. So making sure we have those company meetings and were able to attend those, um, also allows us to be leaders within the industry, which is really great, so we can spend our time with user group. We can spend our times doing things like this and also spend our time, you know, attending Webinars, researching our roles a little bit more and really becoming a leader within the industry. So that's awesome. It's just a perfect balance of what you would actually want, uh, in a work week. So great
mhm. So the tools that I and then yeah, that I'm in everyday Marcato is definitely the number one tool I'm in every day. That is the marketing automation platform. I believe it's still like the most popular one. Um, I'm also in Salesforce on a pretty regular basis. And then any integrations into market. Oh, so what feeds information? Eso That could be things like wordpress. You know, your what's running on your actual website. It can be tools that provide data enrichment, like ring lead or, um, discover org's. Um, it could be tools that run webinars like zoom and go to Webinar. Lots of those tools are integrated into Mark Marcato. Eso It's kind of like the hub and then all these other tools that come off of it or come into marcato. Um, just like you have a sales force, any salesforce admin is kind of in the same boat of managing salesforce and then all the tools that talked to it. Um so those air most of the tools and then for the project management side of actually being a consultant, I lean towards just using Google platform. So I use spreadsheets. Um, all the time to actually manage the work that I'm doing. I create Gant charts within Google Sheets. It's just a lot easier, Um, and knowing Excel, obviously it's the same thing is Google Sheets. So, um, having a little bit of, uh, experience with Excel, uh, works as well for the job that I dio Um, yeah, as for like, software program are I would say, as for languages, So there's, like, a little bit of CSS and HTML that is involved with something like Mark Kado and a website eso. I have a little bit experience. I can definitely not create landing page from scratch, but I can go in and, you know, modify html a little bit. Modify CSS. Um so forms can kind of look the way that they are intended toe look on an actual web page. Um, but other than that, I I don't have much coding experience myself
