I got where I'm at today. Um, I work for a who do digital, which is a implementation partner for Adobe, and we specifically partner in a adobes enterprise, Um, marketing solutions. So don't be experienced manager that we analytics and Adobe Target and I found myself in this job today, mainly through the degree that I got at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah and I was studying information systems. And after during my senior year, I did an internship with Goldman Sachs and took a position at Goldman Sachs after graduating and I spent time doing work in operations. And then I took on a project management role. And then I left Goldman Sachs for a period of time to go and do something on my own. And then I found myself back in the world of software development and implementation software implementation and have worked for ah couple agencies between now and the one that I'm between leaving Goldman Sachs and the one that I'm working at now, um, I have have moved from thanks to the education that I got it the in information systems at the School of business. I've moved from business analyst roles to project management roles. Thio, now a product owner and a solution consultant. So I focus primarily on helping clients turned their business goals into reality with the right software and the right implementation for software.
So in a typical life of a solution consultant and who do digital, my daily responsibilities are typically so we are. We are a digital agency, and I worked with a handful of clients. So in a typical day, I will start by working on the projects that I may be on. So in my role, it can vary. I I could do anything from a typical business analyst role gathering, UH, listing business requirements and writing down user stories and turning those users stories into actual tickets for developers. Um uh, that's one facet of my role. Another facet of my role is on the more on the solution consultant side. So when a when one of my clients has purchased the Adobe software, I'll come in and provide recommendations for how to use the software and best practices and provide training and enablement sessions for our clients so that they feel like they can manage the software on their own, and they understand how the software works on Ben. From an account management perspective, I spend a great deal of my time managing our different client accounts, So I will, from in the account management role, I'll make sure that the the project team is staffed appropriately and that our clients have the appropriate amount of resource is to accomplish their goals on. But they meet their timelines for software implementations and then ensuring that we provide the right we find the right price for our different resource is that we may lend to our customers. So providing run rates for current projects and giving an update. You know, weekly daily sometimes updates to our clients to ensure that we're tracking towards success on projects that we are that we are either under over our run rates. And if we have any scope increase that that that is accounted for. An additional budget is given on deny do spend. Luckily for me, with my agency, they they encourage continuing education. Um, and in fact, they provide incentive for continuing education. So I would say a percentage of my time also is, is researching the current market and making sure that I'm up to speed on all the latest certifications and technologies that are available on that our customers are asking for. So I do spend a lot of time in my job, Um yeah, re certifying and re educating myself and training and getting up to speed on the latest technologies in my industry. Work hours. I'm typically working. Uh, really. My work hours depend on my client's. So because I'm an agency, we don't. I don't work for an organization that has set limits. It really just depends on my project. So there may be weeks where a project work is like and they just launch. So I have a period of time in between one project ending in the other project, starting where I may only work 25 30 hours a week, and then when projects were in there, you know, the stressful phase. And we're trying to launch a product and hit a deadline. I confined myself working anywhere from 60 80 hours a week. So that s so. It really does vary depending on my client's needs. Travel. I would say the same thing goes for travel. So when travel depending on my client, I was I worked for Wal Mart for a year, and their headquarters were out in Bentonville, Arkansas. So I I did. During that project, I was traveling anywhere from 1 to 2 weeks out of the month, so I spent about half the month there, and then half the month back at home
uh, the adobe experience, uh, platform. So Adobe experienced Manager Adobe experienced manager assets in their whole marketing enterprise marketing software suite is all built on Java. So it's a combination of, you know, job on the back end and HTML and CSS on the front end. So we primarily work in that world in that framework. Um, job is also built on sling. If you're familiar with Sling um, O S G I framework for all of their back end configurations. Um, typically in my role, I Luckily for me, I don't spend as much time on the software side as I'm or on the the business analyst side. So it's I've picked up enough to be dangerous, but I myself am not a developer. But those are the tools that typically our development teams or those of the software programs, frameworks, models and languages, the our teams typically working. So I would say that that with another standing of Java, though, it's become clear to me that any developer that starts with knowing java can quickly pick up any of the other object oriented languages rather quickly and don't really have a hard time adjusting to any other programs that any other programming language that they need, they may need to know in order to be helpful on a project. So there are times that will work in other languages or will work, Um, building spy applications that may be built on a some new software language. But yeah, Java, I would say, would be the primary.
