In college I launched Mozar Central, an online admissions platform. For 10 years it was used by Carnegie Mellon School of Music and Aspen School of Music and Festival and served ~50,000 students. It’s a full-featured booking engine similar to Orbitz: schools designate location, time, program, etc. and applicants book time slots to audition in person. It provided students with email reminders, QR codes for check-in, and admission office with ability to input audition feedback and real-time reporting capabilities. It was my first taste of startup—I designed, I built, I sold, made unlikely friendships along the way—a beautiful experience.

Post college I joined a competitive software residency program (4 out of 800 candidates) to gain a wide range of experience as quickly as possible. I served four lines of business—from enterprise back office to custodian services—in four different roles: engineer, architect, project manager, and business analyst. It provided a diverse palette of experience where I built software, managed in-house and off-shore teams, learned how to negotiate with vendors, implemented virtualization technology, and more.
