General Manager, Hammerton Studio

I am responsible for leading and managing all operations for the Hammerton Studio brand, including new product development, information systems, and manufacturing. Hammerton Studio is a multimillion dollar lighting brand in the high-end decorative market, and is manufactured completely in Salt Lake City. Managing a high volume, made to order brand which utilizes manufacturing processes from welding and CNC machining to glass blowing and powder coating is an incredible challenge, but is also very rewarding.

NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT - Manage each new product concept from the design phase to product rollout - Create and maintain databases to provide automated technical specifications and pricing data - Assemble cost information and set pricing based on competitors and customer feedback - Task engineers and product developers with new design problems and testing requirements - Coordinate with United Laboratories to certify our new products as UL listed - Pioneer the integration of LED technology in UL listed standard products - Lead training and rollout of products to inside sales, outside sales, distributors, and manufacturingMANAGEMENT OF ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT - Manage a team of seven engineers - Set strategic goals such as integrating 3D CAD software to improve the design process - Evaluate individual and team metrics by using a self-developed process of tracking and reporting - Delegate projects and responsibilities to the team based on priority - Continually evaluate processes and workflow to determine where opportunities lieDEVELOPMENT OF IT TOOLS - Continually make adjustments to the SQL Server database housing all sales and production data - Improve and adjust the company-wide sales, production, and inventory system - Create and maintain the entire production data reporting and management system - Build reports, front end interfaces, spreadsheets, and queries for other department managersOPERATIONS MANAGEMENT - Track and report on revenue and capacity scheduling - Provide data and reporting on a weekly basis with revenue projections - Evaluate revenue requirements, capacity constraints, and supply chain capabilities - Assist accounting and sales operations to true-up end of quarter revenue  - Create and monitor incentive metrics for production staff

Huntsman Cancer Institute

- Structural tested and documented of fiberglass and carbon fiber composite products.- Designed, built, and installed manufacturing equipment including programmable logic controller (PLC) programming, circuit design and installation, 3D CAD modeling of parts, and machining components.
