DigitalOcean was without an information security practice or processes prior to joining, and I was hired to lead the security efforts and establish DigitalOcean as a security-focused organization. The FDSecE team was part of the Business Development team, and the consisted of Information Security subject matter expert responsible for acting as thought leaders with clients in topics ranging from security strategy to forensics.   In addition to assisting customers in solving their hardest information security challenges, the FDSecE team was also responsible for driving product design and identify future business.Key Projects:	Develop internal training for various Business Development and internal teams to improve overall domain knowledge.   Training included network fundamentals, security instrumentation, and incident response.	Work with product and design teams to create a new suite of tools for analyzing and visualizing large information security data sets.	Point person onsite during customer incident response.	Advised executives at customer engagements regularly to identify trends and improvements in Information Security processes and programs to further secure their environments and identify optimizations.

Organization CISO responsible for the multi-million dollar budget necessary to ensure the security of Sony Corporation of America, Sony’s shared services western hemisphere datacenter, and CISO for DADC, Music Publishing, Extreme Music, Biotechnology, Micronics, Media Cloud Services, and Sony Card.   Responsible for understanding the diverse Sony businesses to design policies and solutions to most effectively address business risk.Key Projects:	Built a team of high performance Information Security professionals to provide support for Information Security initiatives and functions, and mentoring employees to reach peak performance.	Built and managed the $2 million budget for FY14 to improve SCA’s security posture while also cutting costs.	Perform risk assessments of vendors and solutions to make appropriate recommendations to business owners.	Led the project to create an innovative network infrastructure to allow for monitoring of all egress and ingress traffic, and coordinated with various Sony legal and privacy groups to assure proper disclosure to the users.	Led the information security design for the new global web catalog infrastructure built and hosted in the datacenter.	Coordinate with global teams on redesigns of systems being migrated to the western hemisphere datacenter.	Manage PCI assessments for relevant systems, and maintain compliance within the datacenter.	Provide senior management visibility into the security posture of SCA and its entities through the eGRC platform.

Hold multifaceted responsibilities within the global physical and information security role, providing critical direction and strategic leadership for enterprise-wide, multimillion dollar security measures, protecting business intelligence systems from attack, reducing unauthorized leakage, and securing the physical properties affecting 450 users in 7 offices worldwide. Key Projects: Led the team responsible for creating a global log event correlation infrastructure. Responsible for employee security awareness. Created the physical security design and a key performer in all office systems design in Liquidnet's global footprint. Created technology strategies from the ground-up, implementing a data loss prevention application and behavioral monitoring of internet, computer, and file usage, deployed globally across endpoints, networks, and file storage, to prevent information leakage and unauthorized activities within the company.  Championed the creation and implementation of an Intrusion Detection System. Led the efforts to enhance the overall security of the company’s internet presence by identifying, designing, and implementing a global internet filtering infrastructure launched with little impact to employee productivity. Identified, tested, and purchased enterprise-class whole disk encryption and remote asset tracking for all company laptops. Led on-site security audits of physical and information security practices, coordinated cross-disciplinary security projects, and performed awareness training in all of Liquidnet’s offices throughout North America, Asia, and Europe. As a result of superior employee leadership and training, was selected to mentor staff in multiple technologies.

Responsible for performing penetration tests against NYSE trading systems, both internally and externally.  Included lab testing to identify new attack vectors and technologies in the aim of successfully identifying the maximum number of vulnerabilities during assessments.

Responsible for selecting new technologies for the NYSE trading floor.  This included selecting the wireless technology to be deployed on the network and consisted of vendor selection, field testing, aiding driver development, and capacity testing.


Designed trading floor networks for the New York Stock Exchange and American Stock Exchange, as well as the NYSE corporate networks.  The networks were designed to be extremely high availability and high security in order to meet the organization's trading needs.
