Write several times weekly about technology issues, generally with an open source or cloud bent. I love to write and this is something I do in my spare time.


Lead Adobe's global developer ecosystem, including Open Development, Adobe@Adobe, Priority Engineering, Solutions Engineering, with the company's open source office reporting to me, as well. Led changes in Adobe's contribution process, as well as executive buy-in, that fostered a dramatic upsurge in open source activity across the company (As of June 2019, Adobe ranks #14 among the world's largest corporate contributors to open source; when we started working on this in late 2017, we were #37). Also led efforts to clean up "developer hygiene" for the company's Experience Platform launch in May 2019 (improving APIs, documentation, code samples, etc.), and across the company's diverse product teams. While there is considerable work to do, today Adobe has a much more "developer-first" mentality than when we started two years ago.

Had several areas of responsibility while at MongoDB, including corporate strategy, business development and corporate marketing. Basically, have filled gaps as needed, successfully transitioning these roles to new executives as the organization has matured.Added marketing leadership in December 2013, covering web, corporate marketing, community and communications. Shifted business development in May 2014 so as to focus full-time on marketing. Helped to cement MongoDB as the second-most discussed (and top-4 most popular) database, according to DB-Engines.com ranking.For my final several months, took on explicit responsibility for shepherding and growing the MongoDB developer community, which also involves continued help with business development (since partners are part of the community) and marketing (messaging, communications, etc.).
