Director of Communications Strategy and Planning at University of California, Berkeley

Lead complex, multi-stakeholder project and process management initiatives in support of the university’s $6 billion comprehensive fundraising campaign, develop innovative campaign collateral to meet the evolving needs of fundraisers across campus, and partner with unit leadership to ensure projects and  resources align with departmental priorities and university-wide goals.


A wellspring of innovation, the school occupies a 1,232-acre campus near downtown Berkeley. UC Berkeley, also known as Cal, was established in 1868 as the flagship of today’s 10-campus University of California.

Advised External Relations and Marketing Communications leadership on campaign communication strategic operations, implemented and refined project management processes, and assessed forward-looking workflow and resources.


Led key projects within the External Relations and Marketing Communications department focused on large-scale jobs with interrelated deliverables, process improvement, and communication coordination.


Led the development and execution of all donor and alumni communication—including print, digital, and social media—as well as supported the preparation of the communication unit’s annual budget, strategic planning, and goal evaluation.


Hawaii Pacific University

Worked in close partnership with Associate Vice President for Development & Director of Campaigns to plan and implement key messaging and content strategy for major gifts initiatives, donor recognition, alumni relations, annual giving programs, and upcoming university events.


Collaborated with club leadership to increase international and reciprocal memberships during a large-scale clubhouse renovation and increase in dues. Managed a variety of digital and print communication.



      Oahu Country Club
  

Raised awareness about social entrepreneurial practices by coordinating the Foundation’s sponsorship of Utah’s first annual social “Entrepreneur of the Year” award with Ernst & Young. Assisted with writing and designing the Foundation’s first print collateral as well as maintained its inaugural website, Facebook, and Youtube content.

Healthcare
University of Utah Health Care recently ranked first in the nation in a prestigious national study. The University Health System Consortium’s 2010 Quality and Accountability Study compared 98 of the nation’s top academic medical centers and ranked them based on core quality measures, patient safety indicators, mortality rates, re-admission rates, and patient satisfaction scores.
