Serve as Commissioner for the New England regional accreditor. The Commission on Institutions of Higher Education (CIHE) of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges is the regional accreditation agency for colleges and universities in the six New England states: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Three institutions in Greece, three in Switzerland, two in Lebanon, and one in Bulgaria, Bermuda, and Morocco, respectively, are also affiliated with CIHE. Researched, assembled, and edited a variety of media relations products, including fact sheets, media advisories, press releases, cover letters, and other materials. Organized media strategies for high profile NEH events including the Jefferson Lecturer, the highest award given by the United States for achievement in the humanities. Dealt with members of print and broadcast media, as well as public and private audiences that related to NEH. Maintained responsibility for the agency's extensive news summary service and the production of The Weekend Reader, a weekly publication of the Media Relations Office. Conducted periodic detailed analysis of media coverage of Endowment Programs, noting extent and type of coverage, types of publications, and other media participating. Coordinated agency responses to events involving NEH.
