Developed strategic relationships with major Internet and communications customers enabling double digit revenue growth of the business unit’s multibillion dollar revenue.Previously served as Senior Vice President, Director Sun Laboratories reporting to the CTO, responsible for all aspects of the Laboratories eight worldwide R&D locations including research agenda, day-to-day operations, technology transfer, intellectual property portfolio, standards, university programs and managing $150+ Million annual budget.  Created new R&D initiatives in sensors, containerized data centers, multiplayer gaming infrastructure, digital rights management, ultra-reliable storage, cryptography, security, high speed data switching, thin clients, web services, collaboration support systems and streaming media set top boxes as well as directing key projects within a $125 Million multiyear DARPA program to develop ultra high performance computing architectures and integrated circuit packaging technologies.Member of the Executive Management Group, reporting to the CEO, and the Technical Advisory Council, reporting to the CTO, provided strategic, technology and business leadership across all business units.

I served as a key contributor to major transactions including DoCoMo ($9 Billion), Excite@Home ($3 Billion), Microsoft ($6 Billion) and the acquisition of MediaOne and TCI.Concurrently served as AT&T Laboratories Vice President Broadband Technology reporting to the CTO, directing strategy and technology for broadband, cellular and fixed line offerings. Represented AT&T and the United States at the International Telecommunications Union and managed the CableLabs relationship, created and chaired the home networking and gateway project – CableHome as well as contributing to the PacketCable and OpenCable projects.   The Niels Bohr Institute is the unification of the four previous institutes for the physical sciences at Copenhagen University: The Astronomical Observatory, The Ørsted Laboratory, The Geophysical Institute and The Niels Bohr Institute. During the 18-month initial development phase I led the project on-schedule and under-budget. Working with NASA  led the development of space flight approved on-board personal computers and applications for the Space Shuttle.
