Healthcare
University of Utah Health Care recently ranked first in the nation in a prestigious national study. The University Health System Consortium’s 2010 Quality and Accountability Study compared 98 of the nation’s top academic medical centers and ranked them based on core quality measures, patient safety indicators, mortality rates, re-admission rates, and patient satisfaction scores. &#x2022; Prepare and analyze financial statements. &#x2022; Prepare journal entries and bank reconciliations using Quickbooks. &#x2022; Complete required tax reporting in a timely manner. &#x2022; Developed business and marketing plan.

&#x2022; Lead coordinator and editor of the Methodological guide for teaching English as a second language for 1st, 2nd, ad 3rd grade. &#x2022; In collaboration with the Secretary of Education in Intibuc&#xE1;, organized a technical team of two U.S. and three Honduran licensed language teachers. &#x2022; Prepared a Two-Day Validation Workshop and worked with a three Honduran teachers on the revisions.

World Affairs Council programs provide opportunities for everyone in Greater Seattle to be a global citizen by advancing a deep understanding of international events and culture. As a hub for all things international, the World Affairs Council creates programs and opportunities for local people to interact directly with leaders, educators, and professionals from around the world.

The World Affairs Council values global citizenship and cultural exchange for everyone and strives to enrich Greater Seattle’s civic and cultural conversation with world perspectives through programs that:
 •Allow for one-on-one conversations with government, business, and civic leaders from other nations;
 •Provide professional and social connections with others who share a passion for world affairs; and
 •Educate and empower the next generation of global leaders.

World Affairs Council

&#x2022; Established partnerships with community centers, nonprofit organizations, and Victim Witness Services to coordinate events and present Know Your Rights, Defense Deportation, and Labor Rights presentations &#x2022; Developed and prepared outreach materials brochures, booklets, and cards using Microsoft Publisher. &#x2022; Conducted initial client interviews, translate legal documents in English/Spanish, supported staff with legal cases.

Friends of Farmworkers, Inc.

&#x2022; In charge of transcribing interviews with university administrators, staff, and transfer students. &#x2022; Transcribe one hour of a one-on-one interview in 2 -3 hours.

&#x2022; Advised 10-12th grade underrepresented, low-income, and/or first generation high school students in the program. In collaboration with 5 mentors, in charge of 8 classrooms, 20 - 35 students per classroom. &#x2022; Prepare and facilitate college preparation workshops. Coordinated tutor-lead workshops. &#x2022; Developed and implemented curriculum focused on time management, ACT preparation, major exploration, scholarship essays, and skills to prepare for college.

Utah Valley University

&#x2022; Researched literature on international comparative education and immigrant&#x2019;s mathematics education. &#x2022; Conducted a comparative analysis of seventh and eighth grade mathematics curriculum in the US and Peru. &#x2022; Collaborated with research writing professor, mathematics faculty, and faculty advisor &#x2022; Conducted 6interviews; transcribed and coded qualitative data. &#x2022; Presented research at the 23rd Annual California McNair Scholars Symposium in UC Berkeley, CA.

&#x2022; Researched and gathered data on the Latino Market in Utah. Designed and presented info on the statistics page of the website. Assisted in programming and facilitating chamber events. &#x2022; Managed the chamber&#x2019;s website and Constant Contact marketing software. &#x2022; Assisted in programming and facilitating social networking events

&#x2022; Recruited new and transfer students by tabling at SLCC campus, New Student Orientation, and Department of Education events. &#x2022; Advised students on general education requirements, education majors, and coursework for the Department of Education.

&#x2022; Managed front end store. Including managing 8-10 cashiers, assisting them with price checks and questions. &#x2022; Assisted guest service with guest complaints and concerns. &#x2022; Monitored cash drawers in multiple checkout stations to ensure adequate supply. Counted all sales from previous day, made bank deposits, and made sure safe count was accurate.
