  ACORD (Association for Cooperative Operations Research and Development) is a global, nonprofit organization serving the insurance industry. 

ACORD enables greater efficiency, cost savings and data quality for all parties in the insurance value chain through the development of open consensus data standards along with tools to assist in their implementation.  

ACORD promotes technological and business innovation through the Insurance Innovation Challenge, an annual event that seeks individuals and organizations who demonstrate the ability to develop new products and services that bring positive change to the insurance industry.

ACORD is committed to developing the next generation of industry professionals and college students through its Young Professionals'​ Scholarship Program and ACORD Scholars'​ Program.

ACORD members worldwide include hundreds of insurance and reinsurance companies, agents and brokers, software providers, and industry associations.  ACORD maintains offices in New York and London.

In his role as Executive Vice President and CO-CIO of MetLife, Gary Hoberman manages technology for MetLife across the three regions we operate, Americas, Asia and Europe. Hoberman manages a budget of $750M across 6,000 resources and focuses on driving emerging technologies to leapfrog the insurance industry.

Gary joined Citigroup starting at Smith Barney in 1996.   Within Smith Barney, Gary led the Mutual Fund sales and performance team.   There he built one of the most advanced CRM solutions for the Sales Desk as well as three of the top used branch financial applications for the 10,000 Financial consultants.   Gary then took on a new challenge in Citi's Global Transaction Services.   There he led the creation of a client planning application used by thousands of bankers and sales teams.Most recently in Citigroup, Gary has been Managing Director and Global Head of Solutions Development.  Solutions Development is a global group responsible for hundreds of enterprise wide applications spanning all businesses in Citi.  The applications span from critical infrastructure, global functions, and innovation.   Since formed Solutions Development retired over 100 legacy applications through consolidation resulting in tremendous cost saves.   In addition, they automated over 12mm transactions a year for the call centers and operation teams.   Gary's approach to application development has led to some of the most innovative industry solutions.   He has one patent granted for a data processing methodology leveraged centrally by over 1,000 applications.   He has 5 other patents pending including one for the next generation ATM.   One of his e-commerce solutions supports 300,000 users and won an Innovation Award of Wall Street.    Other applications he led including mobile, social and ideation (Citi Ideas) are well recognized.   One of the first inventions which was a mainframe based web service created in 1999 is still processing trades for Citi today.
